| St. Ives is a great
place to visit at any time of year but the September
Festival, which has been running for 30 years, is
a special time. Many artist studios are open to the
public and there are many art and craft related events.
I enjoyed meeting John Emmanuel in his studio in Back
Road West near Alfred Wallis' old house, there would
have been a wonderful view over Porthmeor Beach but
John's window was boarded up!
Tremayne Applied Arts specialise in twentieth century
design and always have some interesting ceramics in
stock. This year a selection of Leach Pottery Standard
Ware was exhibited on the second Saturday of the festival.
These images show pots tastefully displayed in the
window before the event. |
