Bridget - Re. the small lidded jar, I saw a similar design and impressed mark on a piece which also had a paper sticker for David Hinson.Hope this helps.
Karen - Thanks Bridget, I will look into it.
Steven - Hi Karen, Re the small lidded jar, I have a (nice) teapot (lugs with cane handle) with very similar pattern (leaves or petals with these brushmarks, and small berry clusters) and the impressed DH mark. Were you able to verify David Hinson or find out more? I should be interested to learn about him.
Steven - The lidded jar is definitely by Dave Hinson made probably during the 1980s when he was resident potter at Stanford Hall near Lutterworth, Leicestershire. He now produces different wares (2011).
Karen - Thanks Steven, thats loads of info. I really love my little pot, I'm glad to know who made it..... :)
joemac - jug has a wally keeler look to it.
Lesley Barrett - The little jug does look like Wally Keeler...Does it have his mark on the side near the base?..a small spiral?
Karen - Unfortunately the saltglazed jug has no markings at all. You can see the base on the pictures above.I was wondering if it may be an early piece which Wally didn't mark.
