From Karen: A small vase with flower decoration, WM mar but not William Marshall

janet - I have come across this bow tie mark several times over the years and still do not know who it's by (mainly in cornwall)sorry.
Pat - Jennie Phillips - (Dorset/Somerset)?
Paul N. - I've just bought a similar little vase with this exact mark on......and a paper label! It's BW Pottery, Byfield, Northants. I can't find any ref. to it on WWW so I would assume that it was closed by the 1980's.
Karen - Brilliant Paul, thank you so much. I have three of them and they are more like flasks than vases.
Peter Turvey - Name was I think Buchanan-Wollaston Pottery, I knew Mary BW in the 1970s and think she ran it for a while after the death of her parents in the 1970s.
Vicky Beynon - These pots were made by my father, Nigel Buchanan-Wollaston who had a pottery in Byfield Northants from 1975 to 1983 when he died. The mark is derived from the initials NW. My mother did run the shop for a while after his death but he was the only member of the family who made the pots. The wheat decoration was a speciality of his reflecting his previous farming background. . We call these little pots beakers and use them for mulled wine!
Carole - I have a whole lot of pots made by Nigel. I have mugs, dinner plates, cereal/desert bowls, casseroles, beakers, etc. We used to live near Byfield and would regularly go over to add to the collection. Mary did run the shop for a few years after Nigel's death, showcasing work from other potters for a while.
