View across the exhibition
The Monnow Valley Arts Centre is a little gem tucked away in the
Welsh borderland near Abergavenny :difficult to find but well
worth the effort. Opened in 12007 there are two galleries, a sculpture
garden and an artist's studio and residence.
Their Autumn 2009 exhibition features 64 pots
from the collection of an anonymous academic including works by
a number of major potters including Bernard Leach, William Staite-Murray,
Lucie Rie and Hans Coper.
A catalogue has been produced
and there is to be a study day on October 17th when David Whiting
and Jeffrey Jones will explore the collection and there will be
a showing of the Arts Council film Michael Cardew : Mud and
Water Man. For further information about this please visit
the Monnow
Valley Arts website. |
